How dark is the allowable tint shade?

The allowable tint shade can vary depending on the country or state's laws and regulations. In general,  the allowable tint shade is often specified auto tint as a percentage of visible light transmission (VLT), which refers to the amount of visible light that can pass through the windows. For example, in the United States:  the allowable tint shade for passenger cars varies by state but is usually between 25% to 70% VLT for the front side windows and 25% to no limit for the rear side and rear windows.  However, some states allow medical exemptions for darker tinting for people with specific medical conditions.
